LATINO HERITAGE
MONTH 2023
El Mes de la Herencia Latina se celebra entre los días 15 de septiembre y 15 de octubre en los Estados Unidos, fechas que coinciden con el aniversario de la independencia de varios países latinoamericanos. Para el año 2023, los invitamos a las siguientes actividades que se realizarán de forma virtual o en persona. Tendremos un evento de danza para la apertura el día viernes 15 de septiembre vía nuestra página y en Facebook/Youtube del Latino Civic Association, el festival de Cine con Cultura 2023 que presentará 11 películas de América Latina durante seis semana de manera presencial y algunas veces virtual, la exposición de arte latinx que tendrá su apertura el viernes 6 de octubre en el CSMA y la 2nda Fiesta Anual de la Herencia Latinx el 14 de octubre.

Latinx Heritage Month is celebrated between September 15 and October 15 in the United States, dates that coincide with the anniversary of the independence of several Latin American countries. For the year 2023, we invite you to the following activities that will take place virtually or in person. We will publish a video with a dance choreography for the opening on September 15 via our website and on Facebook/Youtube of the Latino Civic Association, the Cine con Cultura 2023 film festival will host 11 films from all over Latin America during six weeks in person and some virtually, the Latinx Art Exhibition will have its opening on October 6th at the CSMA, and the 2nd Annual Latinx Heritage Fiesta on October 14th.
We invite you to join us at one or more of these events. Don't miss them!

CINE CON CULTURA
Las proyecciones del festival tendrán lugar del 7 de septiembre de 2023 al 20 de octubre de 2023. Este año se proyectarán un total de 11 películas con una amplia selección de largometrajes y documentales. Varias películas serán gratuitas y abiertas al público. Algunas pueden tener una pequeña tarifa en Cinemapolis y Cornell Cinema.

Festival screenings will take place from September 7th, 2023 through October 20th, 2023. There will be a total of 11 films shown this year with a wide ranging selection of feature-length films and documentaries. Several films will be free and open to the public. Others might have a small fee at Cinemapolis and Cornell Cinema.
DANZA - DANCE
Los bailes latinos son un símbolo de cultura por derecho propio. En América Latina, la danza constituye una verdadera herramienta de socialización, comunicacion y celebracion. Las danzas están llenas de historias,a menudo nacidas de mezclas de orígenes y culturas.
¡Las danzas latinoamericanas nunca cesan de evolucionar!

Latino dances are a symbol of culture in their own right. In Latin America dance is a real tool of socialization, communication and celebration. The dances are full of stories, usually born from a mix of cultures and diverse origins.
Latin American dances never cease to evolve!
ARTE - ART
The tragic erasure of cultural roots and political views is part of the power dynamics, violence, and metamorphosis that the Mesoamerican region has experienced through colonization and the struggles against dictatorships and civil wars.
The Central American isthmus is particularly tender in these experiences and the consequences of geopolitical interests.
