LATINO HERITAGE
MONTH 2022
El Mes de la Herencia Latina se celebra entre los días 15 de septiembre y 15 de octubre en los Estados Unidos, fechas que coinciden con el aniversario de la independencia de varios países latinoamericanos. Para el año 2022, los invitamos a las siguientes actividades que se realizarán de forma virtual o en persona. Tendremos un evento de danza para la apertura el día 15 de septiembre via nuestra página y en Facebook/Youtube del Latino Civic Association, el festival de Cine con Cultura 2022 que presentará 14 películas de América Latina durante cuatro semana de manera presencial y algunas veces virtual, y la exposición de arte latinx que tendrá su apertura el primer viernes de galería de octubre en el CSMA. Les invitamos a acompañarnos en uno o varios de estos eventos. ¡No se los pierdan!

Latinx Heritage Month is celebrated between September 15 and October 15 in the United States, dates that coincide with the anniversary of the independence of several Latin American countries. For the year 2022, we invite you to the following activities that will take place virtually or in person. We will publish a video with a dance choreography for the opening on September 15 via our website and on Facebook/Youtube of the Latino Civic Association, the Cine con Cultura 2022 film festival will host 14 films from all over Latin America during four weeks in person and some virtually, and the Latinx Art Exhibition will have its opening on the first gallery night of October at the CSMA. We invite you to join us at one or more of these events. Don't miss them!

CINE CON CULTURA
El festival de Cine con Cultura les invita a disfrutar producciones de América Latina incluyendo Argentina, Brasil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, México y los Estados Unidos. Las películas se proyectarán de manera presencial en su mayoría y tres de manera virtual. Se presentarán en Cinemapolis, Cornell Cinema, Ithaca College y GIAC. ¡No se las pierdan!

The Cine con Cultura film festival invites you to enjoy productions from Latin America including Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and the United States. Most of the films will be screened in person and three will be screened virtually. They will be presented at Cinemapolis, Cornell Cinema, Ithaca College and GIAC. You can’t miss them!

La danza sigue siendo un elemento central en el día a día de los países Latinoamericanos. Es un reflejo de la historia y costumbres de cada país, uno de los elementos de identidad más fuertes. Sirve para expresar sentimientos, emociones y experiencias del día a día.

Dancing is a central element in the everyday life of Latin American countries. It is a reflection of the history and traditions of every country, one of the strongest key elements of their identity. The purpose of dancing serves to express feelings, emotions and experiences.
ARTE - ART
The tragic erasure of cultural roots and political views is part of the power dynamics, violence, and metamorphosis that the Mesoamerican region has experienced through colonization and the struggles against dictatorships and civil wars.
The Central American isthmus is particularly tender in these experiences and the consequences of geopolitical interests.
